Last November when I first read about the Country Throwdown Tour I was intrigued. The initial artists announced for the tour were enough to catch my eye. The tour is being produced by the team behind the Vans Warped Tour, so I have no doubt that it will be well-organized and a first rate experience.
The tour is featuring three of my absolute favorite artists – Eric Church, Jamey Johnson and the Eli Young Band. In 2009, I saw each of these artists as well as three of the other acts that will on the tour. I’m also excited to see Little Big Town again. The other exceptional artists on the tour include Montgomery Gentry, Jack Ingram, Emily West, Heidi Newfield, Jonathan Singleton and the Grove, The Lost Trailers and Academy Award winning singer Ryan Bingham and his band The Dead Horses.
There will also be a second stage sponsored by The Bluebird Cafe that will feature up and coming artists. Included in the list of artists slated for the Bluebird stage is Sarah Buxton. She is the co-writer of one of my favorite Keith Urban songs, “Stupid Boy.” She has a remarkable version of the song on her recently released self-titled debut album. Ashley Ray, a Kansas native, is also going to be performing on the Bluebird stage. I had the pleasure of seeing Ashley perform as the opening act at Jason Aldean’s Concert for the Cure during last year’s CMA Fest. She’s a phenomenal singer. Her latest single “Dirt Cheap” features Mike Eli of the Eli Young Band on background vocals and the song was co-written by Luke Bryan.
Rachel and I bought our tickets for the Charlotte, NC show on May 27 through the Tour’s pre-order program. We scored fifth row center seats! I CANNOT wait for this show. I’m so excited to see the show. How many times will I be able to see such a diverse, talented group of artists in one venue? I can’t wait to share my review and post pictures from the show.
In the meantime, enjoy my pictures of some of the artists on the 2010 Country Throwdown Tour. And, if the tour is coming to a city near you, you should definitely consider buying tickets. The tickets are all reasonably priced and are a huge value considering the depth of the line up!
Has anyone else bought tickets yet?
I like you have been watching this transform into one heck of an event. I got my ticket for Irvine, Ca…3rd row PIT and for the price, to see all these great acts is awesome. The talent on this day will be some I know I will thoroughly enjoy. This has been a class act set up

Congrats on scoring such an awesome seat! That’s another thing that I failed to mention in my post. They really seem to have the best seats available for the true fans.
I hope that this tour is a HUGE success and that they’ll add more dates in more cities next year.
Enjoy your show and let us know how it is!

I’m anxiously waiting for the Tinley Park (Chicago) sale – this is going to be one heck of of a show. My favs are Jack Ingram and Montgomery Gentry – all the others are icing on the cake of entertainment.
